No matter how hopeless your situation feels – THERE IS HOPE!

Bible passage 1: John 20:15-16
“He said to her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?” She thought He was the man who cared for the garden. She said to Him, “Sir, if you have taken Jesus from here, tell me where you have put Him. I will take Him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned around and said to Him, “Teacher!”

Bible passage 2: Isaiah 53:5
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

When we reflect on the circumstances that led to Jesus’ death, we realize that nothing is worse than being sentenced to death for doing good. Jesus performed miracles, healed the sick, and fed the hungry, yet he was still sentenced to a painful death. His apostles were left sad and fearful after Jesus died, uncertain of what would happen to them next. Mary and Martha faced a similar situation when Lazarus died (John 11:1-44), and the family of Tabitha mourned her death (Acts 9:36-42). However, they rejoiced at the resurrection of Lazarus and Tabitha by Jesus and Peter, respectively.

At Easter, we are reminded that no matter how hopeless our situation may seem, there is always hope because of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Whether we are dealing with incurable illnesses, joblessness, homelessness, unjust imprisonment or death, we can always run to Jesus for help. We should not waste time crying but instead kneel down, look up to Him, and find hope in His love and mercy. So, whether Christians or non-Christians, we can find comfort in knowing that Jesus is always there to help us if we run to Him in our times of need.
