Discovering God’s purpose for your Life.

Bible passage: Romans 12:2 “Do not copy the behaviour and customs of this world but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

In my Christian journey, I have observed that while some seem to grasp God’s will for their lives instantly, others require more time. Although I would have preferred to fall into the former category, I find myself in the latter. From my experience (and I believe this applies to many others), God’s will is not necessarily revealed to us in its entirety right away. Instead, it is disclosed gradually in pieces that become clearer and more understandable as we obey His every instruction. As the scripture for today indicates, we must first allow the Holy Spirit to change the way we think, moving away from worldly ideas and embracing His ways. Only then can we discern God’s divine will for our lives and distinguish it from our personal will, particularly when they conflict. Furthermore, as the Holy Spirit transforms us, we will begin to desire what God desires.
You may wonder why understanding God’s will is essential. It is crucial because that is where God’s grace and favour lie! Moreover, when we are aware of God’s will, we can be confident that He will grant whatever we request according to His will (1 John 5:14-15)! Isn’t that fantastic? If you are feeling lost or stuck regarding your life’s purpose, I urge you to pray, be persistent in obedience, and have faith that God will reveal His will as you obey His instructions.
P.S. It is almost impossible to recognise God’s voice if you are not rooted in His word. Therefore, take the time to contemplate and study the Bible daily, and as you do so, the Holy Spirit (who inspired the Bible – 2 Timothy 3:16) will help you understand His word on a deeper level.
