Bible passage: Isaiah 46:3-4
3 “Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob,
all the remnant of the people of Israel,
you whom I have upheld since your birth,
and have carried since you were born.
4 Even to your old age and grey hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
Wow isn’t that passage something! Whenever I go through difficult and challenging periods in my life I find my faith in God being challenged. It becomes so easy for me, during that period, to be consumed by how great those challenges are especially in comparison to my strengths. This passage however gives me comfort during this period because it draws my focus back to God and His love for me. In this passage God reminds His people (of whom we are a part of) that not only did He create us but will be and already is with us to help and guide us through life’s journey. The passage then goes on to say in verse 5,“With whom will you compare me or count me equal? To whom will you liken me that we may be compared?” The answer of which is simply no one and nothing. So if that is the case then there is no reason to fear or loose faith because we have a God that is greater than all our fears!
